Believe in your children, and tell them often that you do.
Guide them when they are young.
Take time to give them your full attention.
When they ask questions, try to look them in the eye and answer to your best ability.
Be firm, yet loving.
Lead by example.
Take time to be silly.
Encourage them to follow their dreams, color outside the lines, and be their own person.
Teach them to give without expecting in return.Let them know that they can discuss anything with you.
Instill in them everything that is important, and then let go when it is time for them to fly.
And most importantly, remember that respect is not something that you demand…it is something that you earn…by doing all the things that are listed above
